It’s that time of year when we come together to celebrate our league All Stars! For their efforts on offence, defence, pitching, and being recognized as a top rookie this year, let’s take a look at some of the players who have earned their All Star nod from the Expos and Blue Jays!
Top Offensive All Stars: Jordan Webb and Jeff Walsh
The 2022 MVP has found his offensive footing again, as Jordan Webb has been the big offensive force the Expos have leaned on all season to keep them afloat! Leading him team in hits and runs, Webb’s explosive bat has failed to slow down in any way during the 2024 season and has well deserved his All Star Nod!
It’s an easy pick when your player is batting over .600, and Jeff Walsh has delivered the thump the Blue Jays were looking for this season to help lead their team into a strong position in the closing month of the regular season! Leading his team in every major offensive category, it’s hard to question his selection and ability!
Top Defensive All Stars: Farhaan Mian and Tyler Anderson
It’s hard to question the value of an elite centre fielder. With buttery smooth routes to balls, a cannon of an arm and the ability to impact on both sides of the ball, Farhaan Mian made earned his All Star nod this season! 5-0 has always answered the bell when a ball hits the sky, and has kept runners at bay for the Expos all season!
The newest Anderson has made himself known in just his first season, providing top level defensive play up the middle for the Blue Jays at both the catcher and shortstop positions! The youngster has always stepped up to put his team in the best position they can be defensively and it has paid off with elite run prevention for the Jays!
Top Pitching All Stars: Brock Wilimek and James Allison
The reigning Marv Weiman Pitcher of the Year is making his case again this season! Brock Wilimek has continued his stream of dominance this season for the Expos storming out batters at the best rate in the league, and pitching beyond expectation as the first-overall pick! A beyond deserving All-Star, Wilimek will look to keep his arm strong into September as the Expos attempt a Cinderella run!
James Allison needs little introduction. A tried and true veteran of the league, his pitching dominance is the stuff of legends and he’s only added to it this season as the Blue Jays’ top pitcher. His mix of control and mound presence continues to stymie batters who dare attempt get on base against him, and he’s looking to once again be the workhorse starter teams have come to know him as once playoffs begin!
Top Rookie All Stars: Dave Pilat and Tyler Anderson
Squint and you might think you’re facing Roy Halladay. Dave “Punchies” Pilat has come into RHMRBL with a strong performance, earning 2 wins already on the season and pitching with fire in each appearance! The pitcher has been a revelation for the Expos this season, stepping up for big innings when his team has needed him most! A well deserving All-Star, Pilat will look to lock in ahead of the start of the playoffs!
