We hope everyone is enjoying their off-season, recovering from some seasonal injuries, missing baseball, and spending quality time with their families.
We want to provide you with some highlights from this past season.
This year we saw the return of our annual RHMRBL All-Star Game. What an event it was, the battle was fierce between two highly competitive teams, one led by RHMRBL Alumni and Hall of Fame Captain Les White, and the other led by fellow RHMRBL Alumni and Hall of Fame Captain Jim Anderson Sr. It came down to the final 2 innings to determine the winner. Congrats to Team Anderson, with the MVP accolades going to Danny Alexander with the game-winning hit, and driving in the winning RBI.
This year we saw the 2nd overall pick James Allison record his 300th career strikeout on the mound. This ranks him 13th all time, and 8th on the current active RHMRBL Roster.
This year saw the return of Anwar Khan, after a 10-year Hiatus. Did he come back with a bang, he must have missed the Green! He broke the long standing 14 year single season record of 50 RBI’s, that was held by AJ Leitch, with 63 regular season RBI’s. He has been putting in the work!
The all-coveted Reaper Cup, is what the RHMRBL is almost all about. Congrats to the Royals, you’re 2023 Reaper Cup Champions. They were handpicked by a Great Duo of Co-Captains in Richard Rendek, and Jordan Levy. This brings another title to Jordan Levy’s’ Mantle, with no end in sight.
This year couldn't have been possible without the great support and relentless hours put in by your 2023 RHMRBL Executive, they continue to strive to keep making the RHMRBL the best Baseball League in the GTA.
Now our year-end send-off, is for all RHMRBL players, wives, or girlfriends. It’s time to acknowledge the greats from this past year, as voted on by your fellow players with our annual Awards Banquet.
We are heading back uptown this year, and our gracious host for our 2023 Awards Banquet, is Archibalds Pub 8950 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill. On Saturday, December 2nd, arrive at 5pm, and mingle for a bit. You'll get a delicious buffet-type meal set for 6 pm (House, or Cesar salad, Chicken Penne Alfredo, Fish & Chips, Ribs, Wings, and Fries)
UPDATE: The cost of this event will be $20/per person. This will help to cover the costs of the event, awards, and a single drink ticket. Of course, we'll follow that up with our annual awards ceremony starting at 7 / 7:15 pm. We will be ending @9:00p. If you're in the mood you're more than welcome to stick around after, there will be a live band starting around 10:00 pm.
