The R hockey league has been a constant in the Richmond Hill community for over 40 years. For many years players have been enjoying the high paced play, great camaraderie, and lots of laughs and an occasional adult beverage.
From "Howie hockey" way back when, to the Mike Nelson days followed up by the Ciaravella era the league has had some great times and and made some great memories. From the old Backstop days, to the more recent at Stein Burger and Koop ("Yogi's") many a night has been spent with each other after the games enjoying each other’s company.
Legends such as Kenny Harrington, Kevin Ryan, Jeff Rumble, Scott Sullivan, Vinny Capotosto, Matt Donegan all have put there stamp on this league.
The league started off as a true draft and has recently metamorphisized into a very competitve team entry format.
We are loooking to create more memories and future beer league legends, in a fun competitve respectful environment for all to enjoy.
