What a fantastic start to our 2021 Fall Classic. The head to head match up of The Mariners vs The Yankees features some of leagues greatest and legendary talents. After rain delayed game 1 on Thursday, Friday’s start to the series came in with a roar! The pitching match-up featured rising star, Mitch Sadofsky vs the RHMRBL all time win-leader, Jordan Lipson.
The Mariners opened the game with a 1-0 lead after the first inning. The Yankees battled back to take a 3-1 lead through 6 but the lead was short lived with The Mariners managing to put up 2 runs in the top half of the 7th to tie the game. The Yankees looked to come right back-having bases loaded in the bottom half of the inning with 1 out, only to hit into a double play to end the inning. The Mariners didn’t let up and took advantage of the momentum swing to score 3 more and put the game on ice.
Game 2 featured more of the same. Incredible pitching and top notch defense. With The Mariners Tony Minakakis squarig off against the Yankees Michael Rivait. The Yankees came out gunning scoring 3 runs in the top half of the first. Rivait was in cruise control until the 5th, where the Mariners bats came alive scoring 4 runs. Each team traded runs, but in the end, The Mariners took a dominant 2-0 series lead with a 5-4 win.
Games 3 and 4 are this Thursday and Friday. Come out to support your favorite team and/or players as we head towards what should be an epic week!
